What do you say about someone who’s been a major part of your life since you were in college? I met Deanna my Junior year in college and instantly knew she was the little sister I never had. Deanna and I became roommates a semester later and from that moment on we were inseparable. We had afternoon naps (daily), ate raw cookie dough until we threw up, laughed until we cried, and most importantly we grew a friendship that would last a lifetime. This past year, this sweet little sister of mine up and moved her life to the Outer Banks (yes, North Carolina four states away from me). Getting used to Deanna being away from home was a hard adjustment for me. There was no more Monday night Bachelorette dates, that consisted of bowls of ice cream, raw cookie dough, and puppy snuggles. Instead we were forced to make our friendship work from 391 miles, 7 hours, and 4 states away. Well, little did I know the Outer Banks would be a frequently visited place, even if it was just for two days.
Deanna, I couldn’t be more proud of the women you have become. You’ve grown up so much in the last (only) four months. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, but secretly I hope its back to farmland. Until then, the Outer Banks will be visited often, and many memories will be created. Love you!
